In the years before their first ship set sail, Virgin Voyages commissioned Territory Studio to help shape the public vision of a new cruise brand from the ground up. Our role: to visualise the overall design language of the vessels and bring to life the promise of a modern, adults-only ocean experience.

Valiant Lady Introduction

This was not just about showcasing ships — it was about visualising a lifestyle at sea.
Starting with basic CAD models and evolving design studies, we developed a series of high-end exterior visualisations, cinematic fly-throughs and key stills for Virgin’s investor decks, press reveals and marketing campaigns.



The work focused on:

  • The architectural silhouette of the vessel
  • The visual DNA of the brand (from red hull to mood lighting)
  • The narrative framing of future voyages — from Miami to the Med

At various points we collaborated with other studios to integrate evolving interior designs, but our primary focus remained on exterior storytelling — capturing tone, scale and atmosphere in a way that felt fresh, cinematic and unmistakably Virgin.

This phase laid the foundation for how the public first encountered the brand. Two later pieces — the Scarlet Lady revealand Valiant Lady launch — built directly on this groundwork.

Breakdown

These early visualisations helped secure internal alignment, investment momentum, and public intrigue — long before the ships themselves were complete.
